We all know about the classic cars that are lovingly kept in Cuba, but what about American muscle cars that went to Iran in the days before the Revolution? Enthusiasts in Iran are preserving and restoring American muscle cars, hoping for the day sanctions are lifted, and American iron returns to rock the casbah.

I wonder if there is a bit of a forbidden-fruit thing going on. Of the dozens of Persian men I know, they’re all in a Mercedes or a BMW... or a Toyota Tacoma.
